MOORE, Craig Steven, 41, of Chesterfield, passed away August 13, 2013 following a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chester, Pa. on September 24, 1971, he received a B.A. from the University of Delaware and a M.A. from Duquesne University. He came to Richmond in 1998, where he was employed at the Library of Virginia, most recently as state records appraisal archivist. His work on legislative petitions, Confederate military records and executive papers of Virginia governors, including Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson, will contribute greatly to understanding the state's history for generations. Gifted with a quick wit that never failed to make those around him laugh, he enjoyed traveling, organizing team building initiatives for colleagues, rooting on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and simply spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Carrie; children, Liam and Elizabeth; parents, Joseph and Bernadette Moore; brother, Joseph Moore; sister, Desiree Burritt and her husband, Wes Burritt; nephew, Quinn; niece, Laina Burritt; and devoted in-laws, Bob, Peggy and Jim Buckle. The family will receive friends for visitation and celebration of life from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 22, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Craig Moore Memorial Trust for the benefit of Liam and Elizabeth Moore at any Wells Fargo Bank.
